The API Keys management tab in the Cloud9 Portal menu allows Cloud9 support and firm admins to self-manage their API keys. Additionally, specific user roles within a firm can be assigned permissions to view this API Keys tab to allow limited access by intra-firm support persons who may need key management access. Cloud9 support is also granted key management access so that they can assist customers with questions, troubleshooting, and deployment.
You can find the API Keys management tab in the top navigation bar of the Cloud9 Portal. This tab is only available to Cloud9 support and firm admins with permissions to manage API keys (see more below). Selecting this tab brings you to the Manage your Cloud9 API Keys page, where all key management provisioning can be done.
From top to bottom of the screen, you can see three sections: the Generate API Key button, the Current Keys section, and the Invalid Keys section.
The Generate API Key button begins the key creation workflow (see more below).
Generate New API KeyThe Current Keys section displays a list of all keys that are currently active – or can be made active – along with associated actions which a user may take on those keys.
The Invalid Keys section displays a list of all keys that are no longer active (e.g. expired or deleted). No actions may be taken on keys in the Invalid Keys section and it is provided for reference only.
